Jammu, Sept 14: Dr. Sanjay Mohan, Associate Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, SMVDU, and CEO of SMVDU-TBIC, delivered an insightful talk on Innovation and Startup Ecosystem Enablers at Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), Jammu.
The event was attended by a vibrant gathering of students, scholars, and faculty members and was organized by MIET Jammu. Dr. Surbhi Sharma, along with her team, extended a warm welcome to Dr. Mohan on his visit to the institute, creating an atmosphere of cordiality and collaboration.
During his session, Dr. Mohan elaborated on the basics of startups and entrepreneurship, emphasizing how young innovators have transformed creative ideas into successful enterprises.
He shared several inspiring examples of young entrepreneurs who, through perseverance and innovative thinking, have established themselves as industry leaders.
The interaction also focused on the critical role of the SMVDU Technology Business Incubator Centre (SMVDU-TBIC) in fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Dr. Mohan apprised the audience of the significant initiatives taken by the Vice-Chancellor of SMVDU to promote and strengthen the startup ecosystem within the university and the region.
Furthermore, he highlighted various government initiatives aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, including the recently launched YUVA Scheme by the Jammu & Kashmir Government, explaining its purpose and importance in empowering the youth to take up entrepreneurial ventures.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A interaction, where students raised pertinent questions regarding startups, funding, and incubation support, fostering a deeper understanding of the entrepreneurial journey.
