Captain Tushar Mahajan Memorial Trust awards eminent educationist & meritorious students

UDHAMPUR, Sept 14: Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Memorial Trust today awarded eminent retired educationists and meritorious students of Udhampur for their exceptional performance in Board and University examinations.
A function in this regard was organized at Rewayat Benquoet Hall at MH road Udhampur where 56 meritorious students and eminent retired educationist were awarded by Professor Dr J.P Singh Joorel (Dean Academic affairs University of Jammu who was chief guest on the occasion while Professor Vishwa Raksha ( Head of Department of Sociology ) University of Jammu and Professor Dr Ajay Sharma. Government Degree college for women Udhampur were the guest of honour .
Beside others Trust chairman Dev Raj gupta , Asha gupta and senior members Satish Chopra, Ranjit Parihar , Shewatketu Singh , Deepanker gupta , vikas manhas , Dr Vikram Gulati , Kamakshi jamwal Kalpana Jamwal were present on the occasion .
Majority of educationist and prominent citizens attended the function . Programme began with lighting of traditional lamp by cheif guest.
Kusum Tickoo, Anchor highlighted various activities of Trust, like felicitation of martyr's families, organization of eye camps, honouring martyrs families and meritorious students and also providing help to distress in need , uniforms and other stationery articles to poor and needy students. He reiterated the resolve of the Trust to carry on such activities in future too.
In all 56 meritorious students who had shown their exceptional performance in Neet and Board and University examinations in Udhampur district, were honoured by the Trust on the occasion.
Beside students some eminent retired educationists which include Ashok kumar sad hotra Dy Director youth services and sports ,Mohinder Parkash Bucha Joint Director , Bishan Dass ZEO , Sudershan Kumar ,Principal Swami Chinmay Jyoti Chairperson BBSV , Peeth and senior trust member and Social worker Satish Chopra were also honoured on the occasion . Those who were honoured were presented a memento and shawl. Students of Happy model Higher secondary school and Braham Rishi Vidhya Peeth school presented colourful patriotic group songs on the occasion .
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest and guest of honour praised Captain Mahajan for his exemplary and indomitable courage and said he was the epitome of a true Indian soldier who does not mind sacrificing his life in the service of the nation. He exhorted the students to work hard in their new fields to brighten their future. He advised the students to be close to their roots and participate in the civil service examinations as to be the part and parcel of their motherland. They added that we can serve national despite being in any field always keeping it in my mind that nation is first all other things .
