Jammu, Sept 15: In a swift humanitarian response to the recent cloudbursts and flash floods that have severely affected several areas of District Doda, the Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu & Kashmir (IRCS J&K) has dispatched a large consignment of emergency relief material to assist hundreds of families grappling with the aftermath of the disaster. The relief consignment—carefully planned after a rapid assessment of local needs—includes blankets, buckets, tarpaulins, Kitchen sets, hygiene kits, and other essential household items. Teams of trained Red Cross volunteers are already on the ground, helping with rescue support, first aid, and psychosocial counselling for affected families. Mobile health units are being kept on standby to prevent the outbreak of water-borne diseases, while special attention is being given to vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and pregnant women. Sh. Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary, IRCS J&K, said, “The Indian Red Cross Society stands with the people of Doda in this hour of crisis.
