| Real tribute to Lord Buddha would be to follow his teachings: Gupta | | | Early Times Report Jammu May 9- Stating that Lord Buddha’s philosophy of ahimsa (non-violence), love, compassion and brotherhood are of eternal significance and need of the hour, Rattan Lal Gupta President J&K National Conference, Jammu province said that real tribute to Gautam Buddha will be to follow his teachings in letter and spirit in our day to day life. Addressing a function organized by Budh Vihar Sabha under the Chairmanship of Capt. Behari Lal, to observe the auspicious occasion of Buddha Poornima, Gupta said that the teachings of Gautam Buddha on compassion, non-violence and equality serve as a guide for humanity in its path towards spiritual emancipation and peace. “We must strive to achieve universal peace and harmony and must follow the path of enlightenment shown by Lord Buddha and work for the downtrodden and underprivileged”, he said. Gupta said the teachings of Lords Buddha if followed in the right earnest will lead the humanity towards peace, progress and prosperity, which he said is the need of the hour. Other members of the Sabha also addressed the function and highlighted various facets of life of Lord Gautam Buddha.
