| Mankotia serves 15 days ultimatum to JU | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 9- Warning the Jammu University authorities against inordinate delay in starting construction at Udhampur campus of Jammu University, Panthers Party president and MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia today served a 15 day ultimatum to the authorities. In a statement issued here today, Mankotia gave Jammu University authorities an ultimatum of 15 days to start the construction work at the campus failing which an agitation would be launched against the University authorities. He said that some officials who are enjoying additional perks and facilities at the cost of state exchequer are deliberately delaying the start of construction work at Udhampur campus. Mankotia said that Jammu University has been provided more than 200 kanals land free of cost and the amount has also been earmarked for the start of construction work at priority but the officials responsible for start of the same have been dilly-dallying the matter. He said that JKNPP delegation has met the Vice Chancellor of Jammu University thrice but despite assurances to start work at the earliest the concerned blue eyed boy of the VC has not listened to the repeated plea of the people of the area. Mankotia said that Chancellor and Governor of Jammu and Kashmir NN Vohra during a meeting of the JKNPP delegation had also assured positive action on their demand but nothing has been done so far. He urged both the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of the Jammu University to intervene into the matter and save the situation from further deterioration.
