| Traffic cop rewarded for honesty | | Returns Rs. 3 lakh to owner | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 9- A constable of Jammu and Kashmir traffic police returned an amount of Rupees three lakh to the owner in bordering Bishnah area on the city outskirts. 'Dharampal alias Pinki of Laswara village visited a bank on Thursday to withdraw his salary where he met one Chunni Lal of Chakroi village, who had come to withdraw money to purchase land,'' the sources said. ''Chunni Lal however, instead of his motorbike, mistakenly hanged the bag containing Rs three lakh on constable Dharampal’s motorbike. Unaware of a bag hanging on his two-wheeler, the constable left the bank,'' sources said. On his way back home, Dharampal noticed the bag and handed it over to the owner. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic, Jammu Parminder Singh when contacted said, ''we are proud of such policemen, because of whom the honesty still survives. The constable will be rewarded accordingly'' he added.
