TWS welcomes breakthrough in Irrigation Restoration Efforts | | | early times report
Jammu, Sept 22: In a significant development, the Tawi Welfare Society is pleased to announce that Sh. Manoj Gupta, Chief Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control Department, Jammu, led a high-level team to inspect the damaged irrigation canal serving our area's agricultural land. Following this visit, the Chief Engineer provided a crucial assurance that a temporary water supply would be restored to Tawi Island within 15 days. This promising outcome is a direct result of the Society's tireless efforts over the past week, including persistent phone calls and written requests to the Chief Engineer. The timely intervention of MLA Sh. Surinder Bhagat Ji also played a significant role in expediting this development. Tawi Welfare Society welcomes this positive step and eagerly anticipates the successful implementation of the temporary water supply plan. This initiative will not only provide much-needed relief to our farmers but also help mitigate further losses, ensuring the agricultural community's resilience in the face of adversity. Society expresses its gratitude to the Chief Engineer and MLA Sh. Surinder Bhagat Ji for their proactive approach and commitment to addressing our area's irrigation needs. We look forward to continued collaboration and progress in restoring our irrigation infrastructure.
