GDC Khour organises donation drive under the banner of “Sewa Parv”

Jammu, Sept 22: The NSS unit of GDC Khour organized a donation drive at Primary School Naryana and Primary School Nikkian, under the banner of “Sewa Parv”. Prof. Himanshu Khajuria, NSS PO along with NSS volunteers visited the schools and actively interacted with the students.
The primary objective of the drive was to promote the values of selfless service, empathy and social responsibility among the youth. The initiative aimed to extend support to the underprivileged sections of society by collecting and distributing essential items such as books, stationary items (including notebooks, colour kits, drawing pads, geometry boxes etc), hygiene kits (like toothbrushes/toothpaste, soaps etc.) & food items. Collection counter was set up on campus where donations were received, sorted and categorized by NSS volunteers under the guidance of faculty members.
The collected items were distributed to the orphan & needy students.
The initiative not only brought smiles to the faces of students but also encourage them to engage with learning activities with renewed enthusiasm. The drive was organized under the overall guidance of College Principal Prof. (Dr.) T.K Sharma & supervision of Gandhi Jayanti Celebration Committee which include Dr. Rashmi Sharma, Prof. Shivani Sharma & Prof. Sunil Kumar.
The school staff including Ashwani Kumar (Teacher), Sanjay Kumar (Teacher), Chinta Devi (Teacher) & Kavita Khajuria (Teacher) remained present on the occasion and expressed their gratitude to the NSS unit of the College for organizing such programs in their institution form time to time.
The Principal of the College lauded the efforts of NSS unit and the participating students, stating that such initiatives not only help the community but also instill live long values of selfless service in the youth.
He further emphasized that Sewa Parv serves as a timely reminder of our collective duty toward nation building.
