It was observed by civil society members that junior level forest officials attending the joint site visit could not understand the sentimental importance of this project linked to the 8th century Presiding deity of Jammu. Pardeep Gandotra, wherein following prominent members attended the meeting including Mr Suresh Sharma Former Judge, Mr Vinod Sachdeva, Mr Arjun Singh Chib, Mr Harinder Gupta, Mr Satish Koul, Mr Harinder Mahajan, Mr Jagdish Langer, Mr Suresh Sharma, Mr Siddhant Chowdhary, Mr Bhupesh Gupta, Mr Pragya & Ms Praguni A proposal was placed before the members and it was unanimously decided to forward following proposals and the Blueprint/ photographs regarding road connectivity between Bawa Wali Mata temple, Har Ki pauri and Mata Mahamaya Temple for your kind consideration for welfare of public:- 1. That historic Bhawe Wali Mata, Har Ki Paudi & Mahamaya Mata Temples may kindly be interlinked by construction of new road so that a safe motor able religious corridor is formed for convenience of devotees/ tourists. We request for facility of Golf cart and wheel chair for Old age and Handicapped persons. 2. That, an alternate connectivity may kindly be provided from New JDA Parking (Bhawe Wali Mata) to Har Ki Paudi temple with facility for Lift/ Escalator or Golf cart as feasible. 3. That, an additional route may kindly be allowed from New JDA Parking to Bhawe Wali Mata with facility for Golf cart and wheel chair for Old age and Handicapped persons. 4. That, maintenance, widening and up gradation of existing Bhawe Wali Mata road, Ropeway (Gandola) point to Har Ki Paudi road & Mahamaya Mata Temple road may kindly be carried out so that the existing roads can be safely used in all weather conditions. 5. A large number of people from J&K and all across India visit the Bhawe Wali Mata & Mahamaya Mata Shrines. These are ancient temples with large lands attached to them, but have very small space in the Mandapa, outside the sanctum sanctorum. Hence only a few worshippers can be accommodated at a time. It is requested that the temples may kindly be upgraded with construction of bigger hall and other basic amenities. 6. That old parking area of Bhave Wali Mata may kindly be upgraded. 7. That JDA park may also be utilized for entry and exit of devotees of Shri Bhawe Wali Mata Temple so as to avoid congestion and overcrowding. 8. That all the roads may kindly be provided with lights and cameras for safety. 9. That, Sarai / shelter homes may kindly be constructed at Har Ki Paudi and Shri Mata Mahamaya Temple for devotees/tourists. Vote of thanks was presented by Sh Vinod Sachdeva Ji Co-Chairman Jammu Civil Society. It is pertinent to mention here that no developments have been made by the consecutive Governments of J&K and these eight century temples are not well maintained. With the result devotees have to wait for hours together to enter the Bhawe Wali Mata temple. Senior citizens/ Handicapped persons are unable to visit the shrine due to long queues, hawkers, monkey menace and lack of separate entrance. It is pertinent to mention here that this proposal will lead to overall development of the area and the temples will attract Devotees/tourists throughout the year in large numbers. This will also lead to employment and better economic development of Jammu. |
