BJP KDD takes up borewell, drinking water issues of jagti with Jal Shakti Department

JAMMU, Sept 22: In a decisive step to address growing public concerns in Jagti Township where close to twenty five thousand displaced Kashmiri hindu reside , BJP Kashmir Displaced District (KDD), under the leadership of its District President Shri Rajeev Pandita, held a crucial meeting with Executive Engineer, Rural Division, Jal Shakti Department, Er. Rashpal Singh. The meeting focused on the recent unauthorized change in the site of one of the four sanctioned borewells, a move that has sparked strong resentment among residents of Jagti Colony and also discussed at length issue of prevailing scarcity of drinking water in jagti township.
During the meeting, Shri Rajeev Pandita, accompanied by senior leaders of BJP KDD Tika Lal Taploo Mandal, firmly raised the issue, conveying the community's deep displeasure over the deviation from the original plan. The delegation pointed out that the arbitrary shift of the borewell site undermines the carefully planned infrastructure aimed at resolving the persistent water crisis in the colony.
The Tika Lal Taploo Mandal was represented by Mandal President Shri Pyare Lal Pandita, General Secretaries Shri M.L. Padroo and Shri Kuldeep Razdan, and Vice President Shri Predmen Krishan bhat, Ranjan ji and few other Residents of jagti who all reiterated the need for transparency, accountability, and adherence to community-centric planning in developmental works.
In response, Executive Engineer Er. Rashpal Singh assured the delegation that all four borewells will be installed in close proximity to the originally designated overhead tanks, thereby respecting the initial blueprint. He also committed to the provision of an additional borewell, subject to requirement, to further strengthen the water supply network within the colony.
This development comes as a result of BJP KDD's unwavering commitment to the needs of the displaced community and its continued efforts to engage with the administration on issues of public interest. Shri Rajeev Pandita reaffirmed that the party will leave no stone unturned in safeguarding the rights and welfare of the residents of Jagti and all other migrant colonies.
