10th Ayurveda Day celebrates at AYUSH Health, Wellness Centre Kenihama Budgam

BUDGAM, Sept 23: AYUSH Health & Wellness Centre, Kenihama celebrated the 10th Ayurveda Day here today with series of activities under this year’s theme ‘Ayurveda for People & Planet’.
The celebrations were held under the guidance of District AYUSH Officer Budgam, Dr. Firdous Malik.
Addressing the celebrations, Medical Officer, Dr. Nusrat Bashir highlighted the importance of Ayurveda, stating that it is not just a system of healthcare but a complete science of life, based on the principle of harmony between the individual and the environment. She said that the observance of Ayurveda Day reflects the collective resolve to harness the full potential of Ayurveda for global wellbeing and a healthier planet.
As part of the programme, lectures were delivered on the role of Ayurveda in healthy living and disease management. Free medical check-ups were also conducted for the needy and disease-specific medicines were distributed among the patients.
Information, Education and Communication (IEC) material was also disseminated for creating public awareness regarding preventive healthcare practices.
An awareness lecture on Yoga was also organised on the occasion, highlighting its significance for overall physical and mental well-being. Besides, Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) screening of individuals was undertaken, while special focus was laid on anaemia screening of the needy people.
