Jammu, Sept 23: The Literary Club of GGM Science College celebrated Literary Day with great zeal as part of the ongoing Seva Parv initiatives, launched by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The central highlight of the celebration was an inspiring Storytelling Session organized to observe the Adult Literacy Program. During the session, participants narrated deeply moving stories of individuals they knew or had heard about, tales that captured struggles of pain, trauma, resilience, and the eventual triumph of learning to read and write. These stories echoed the transformative power of literacy as a gateway to empowerment and freedom. The program was held under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of the College, who, in his address, highlighted the significance of such initiatives in sensitizing students towards the cause of adult education. He remarked that literacy is not just a skill but a powerful tool of dignity and self-reliance, enabling individuals to break free from the cycle of ignorance and dependency. The event was effectively supervised by Dr. Jatinder Kour and smoothly coordinated by the Literary Club members with active support from student volunteers. Student Ms. Manmeet Kour skillfully conducted the proceedings of the session, while Dr. Yasmeen Mughal concluded the event by extending a heartfelt vote of thanks to all contributors and participants. |
