Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 23: The 20th edition of the Martyrs Memorial Football Tournament (MMFT-2025) was inaugurated today at the Synthetic Turf Ground, TRC, Srinagar amid vibrant celebrations and enthusiastic participation from players, officials, and spectators. Anand Jain, IPS, Additional Director General of Police, Armed J&K, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. In his address, the ADGP Armed underscored the vital role of sports in channeling youth energy in constructive and positive directions. He urged young people to shun the menace of drugs and devote themselves instead to sports and other purposeful pursuits. He emphasized that sports nurture both physical and mental well-being, and open doors to recognition at the state, national, and international levels. Among others who were present on the occasion include, Shri Utam Chand, IPS, IGP POS/Hqrs; Shri V. K. Birdi, IPS, IGP Kashmir Zone; Shri Rajiv Omprakash Panday, IPS, DIG CJKR Srinagar; Shri Shahid Mehraj, IPS, DIG Armed Kashmir; Shri G. V. Sandeep Chakravarthy, IPS, SSP Srinagar; commandants of all Srinagar city-based battalions; the Commandant of 10 Bn SSB; along with senior civil officers and other distinguished guests.
