3-day multi media exhibition of CBC on CSSs commences at Surankote

JAMMU, Sept 23: As a part of ongoing Nationwide awareness campaigns on Centrally Sponsored Schemes an Integrated Communication Outreach programme (ICOP) was inaugurated by Tazim Akhter, Chairperson District Development Council Poonch. The awareness Exhibition is being organized by Central Bureau of Communication, Poonch, (J&K), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India at Govt. Degree College,(GDC) Surankote, Poonch. Ghulam Abbas, Director, CBC J&K, Ladakh presided over the function.
Tazim Akhter, Chairperson DCC Poonch said these kinds of awareness programmes on the schemes and programs of Government of India should be organized on regular intervals so that the general public especially in the far-flung remote areas like Surankote, so that people may get to know about the benefits of these schemes.
Ghulam Abbas, Director, Central Bureau of Communication, J&K, Ladakh in his address said, the government is working towards the upliftment of the poor in the country through its various centrally sponsored schemes and programmes and the pro-poor schemes of the government have brought a revolution in the country.
Shahzad Ahmed, CDPO Surankote spoke about various schemes related to ICDS Department especially he mentioned 'Adi Karamyogi Abhiyan' an initiative meant for tribal population. Dr. Shabir from Rural Development Department and Nusrat Jabin from Social welfare Department spoke about various social assistance and welfare schemes related to their respective departments.
The Exhibition showcases various Centrally Sponsored Schemes through display panels. Selfie corner, Seminar (Expert Lectures on Centrally Sponsored Schemes), Stalls of various departments, Free Health Check up for five Non-Communicable Diseases, open quiz, cultural programmes and 'New India Samachar' magzine of Govt of India will be the main attraction for the youth. People are requested to visit the exhibition (free entry) which helps them in knowing various schemes and their benefits and avail schemes.
The programme was conducted by Umar Farooq. Open quiz was conducted by Vijay Mattoo, CBC Poonch in which questions related to CSS and current affairs were asked with active participation of audience.
