| Valley receives fresh snowfall on upper reaches | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, May 10- As the Western Disturbances left yet another impact on the weather system in the state, the Valley on Sunday received fresh bout of snowfall on the upper reaches while as most of the plains experienced moderate to heavy down pour. The maximum temperature in the summer capital, Srinagar, was two degree below normal while minimum was near normal. A MeT office spokesman said that the day time temperature was recorded at 21.4 degrees Celsius while as the night temperature in the Valley was recorded at 11.8 degrees. The weather man predicted fresh rainfall at isolated places across the state during the next 24 hours. He said fresh snowfall was recorded in the upper reaches, including Pirpanchal range while plains had rains. Reports reaching here said that Pahalgam was coldest during night when temperature dipped to 5.6 degree Celsius this morning followed by Kokernag, again in south Kashmir, 7.2 and Kupwara in north 8.9 degree. MeT office sources said that Qazigund received 2.0 mm rains, Kupwara 2.7 mm, Banihal 6.2 mm and Pahalgam 3.6 mm. The rainfall was recorded from 8.30 in the morning till 5.30 in the afternoon.
