His decision to abolish untouchability and allow all communities access to temples was a progressive step that reflected his belief in social equality. In education, too, he brought about a wave of change by establishing institutions, encouraging modern learning, and opening opportunities to people across castes and classes.
One of the defining features of his governance was his emphasis on inclusive welfare. He was keenly aware that the prosperity of his state depended on justice, equality, and opportunities for all.
