Jammu, Sept 25: NHPC Regional Office, Jammu organized a relief camp for the flood affected people at Bahu Fort, Jammu on 25.09.2025. Under the leadership of Shri Ram Swaroop, Executive Director, Regional Office, Jammu, dry ration packets were distributed and medical assistance was provided to the flood affected people at the camp. Mrs. Kanchan Swaroop, President, NHPC Women's Club, Jammu and members of the NHPC family also helped in this work. As we all know that the devastating floods in Jammu and its surrounding areas have affected the life of the people extensively. To help these flood victims, relief materials were distributed by NHPC Regional Office in various areas. Medical aids was provided to the flood victims in which free medicines were distributed after medical consultation.. The first relief camp was set up by NHPC on 19.09.2025 in Marh Block. The second relief camp was set up on 15.09.2025 in Pargwal Block. In the same sequence, the third camp has been set up on 25.09.2025 in the Bahu Fort Block area for flood victims. In these relief camps, Shri Ram Swaroop, Executive Director, Jammu Regional Office, addressed the gatherings and said that it is our moral as well as social duty to help the needy in this time of natural disaster. NHPC, in addition to power generation, also fulfills its social responsibility. NHPC implements several CSR activities in the region. Recently, NHPC provided financial aid to the Ramakrishna Mission, Udaiwala for establishment of a state of the art eye operation theater. NHPC also provides free medical consultations and medicines to the needy people around its power stations and also runs schools for the education of their children. NHPC is also running skill development programs to empower women and local youth and promote self-employment. Additionally, infrastructure development work is being carried out at the local level to help local people. Shri Guru Dutt, General Manager (Finance), Shri Satnam Singh, General Manager (Civil), Shri Pankaj Vashisht, General Manager (Civil), Shri R.P. Maurya, General Manager (HR), senior officials, women members of the NHPC family and local dignitaries were also present on these occasions. This event was organised in collaboration with Shri Sardar Amardeep Singh, NGO Diva International Foundation.
