Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 25: In a significant gesture of appreciation and commitment to the well-being of the essential workforce, IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu in collaboration with Regional Ayurvedic Research Institute, Jammu, today organized a free health check-up camp for sanitation workers associated with the Jammu Municipal Corporation. This initiative, part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2025 campaign, aims to honour the invaluable contribution of sanitation staff to public hygiene and to provide them with comprehensive healthcare services. SSP Jammu, Joginder Singh was the chief guest and inaugurated the event at IGNOU Jammu campus. The event saw various officials and dignitaries present to acknowledge the dedication and tireless efforts of the sanitation workers. Among the dignitaries present were Khushwant Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, PTTI Vijaypur, Akash Kohli, Sanitary Inspector, JMC and Ramesh Raina, Executive Engineer (Retd.). Officials of Regional Centre Jammu under the leadership of Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director including Dr. Asha Upadhyay, Deputy Director, Assistant Regional Directors Dr. Vikram Singh and Dr. Zeba, and S Tejinder Pal Singh, Deputy Registrar were present on the occasion. A Medical Team from Regional Ayurvedic Research Centre Bantalab under the leadership of Dr. Poonam Sharad Mohod including Dr. Priyanka, Consultant and Ghamshyam Swami, Pharmacist, and para medical staff conducted the health check-up of sanitation workers, Regional Centre staff, students, and other dignitaries. Free Medicines, as prescribed by the doctors, were given to the workers free of cost post consultation. The health camp offered a range of medical services, including general physical examinations, blood pressure examination, vision tests, and consultations with specialists. The ceremony recognized the vital role of sanitation workers in maintaining a clean and healthy environment for the community. Awareness sessions on nutrition, hygiene, and preventive healthcare practices were also conducted to promote the overall well-being of the workers. The initiative underscored IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu's commitment to the welfare and support of the sanitation workforce.
