The initiative was held at Dhonthali Takki, Jammu, where over 100 families striving to rebuild their lives were provided with essential rations, medicines, sanitary supplies, clothing, shoes, and woollens. The distribution included rice, wheat, sugar, pulses, oil, salt, tea, biscuits, milk powder, medicines, sanitary pads, and a wide range of clothes for men, women, and children, along with cartons of warm woollens to prepare for the coming winter. The programme also featured a heartwarming Aarti and special distribution ceremony at Chintpurni Mata Temple, marking the start of Navratri with blessings and community spirit. Dr. Ritu Singh in her address said that the occasion of Maharaja Hari Singh's birth anniversary and Navratri is a reminder of our collective responsibility towards those who are facing hardships. She highlighted that Maharaja Hari Singh stood for justice, equality, and the welfare of his people, and the best way to honor his legacy is by serving humanity with compassion. Dr. Ritu Singh noted that the incessant rains had left many families struggling for survival, but it is in such times of adversity that society must come together to support one another. She urged people of Jammu to extend a helping hand to the needy and stressed that women, children, and the elderly must remain the focus of all relief efforts. She further said that the participation of residents, donors, and volunteers reflects the power of community action in rebuilding lives and bringing smiles to those who have suffered. Ranvijay Singh, in his remarks, said that such drives are not just about providing material support but about instilling hope and confidence among families affected by natural calamities. He shared that festivals like Navratri inspire people to practice compassion, unity, and resilience, and it is in this spirit that the distribution programme was organized. Ranvijay Singh said that Maharaja Hari Singh's vision was always rooted in empowering communities and bridging social divides, and this event was an attempt to live by those ideals. Emphasizing long-term rehabilitation, he added that rebuilding lives requires consistent collective efforts beyond one-time aid. He called upon youth and social organizations to come forward and adopt similar initiatives to strengthen community bonds and ensure that no family is left behind in the process of recovery. Dr. Ritu Singh and Shri Ranvijay Singh extended their heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Anila Bal and the residents of Central Park for their collaboration and generous donations, which made the welfare drive a success. |
