| ‘The Seven Cream Jugs’ staged in Natrang’s Sunday Theatre | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 10- ‘The Seven Cream Jugs’ a play in English- an adaptation by Tom Conklin staged here today by Natrang Children under the direction of Gauri Thakur in the weekly theatre series ‘Sunday Theatre’. This was maiden directorial venture of Gauri Thakur who has already made a mark as a performer and have participated in plays like ‘Bawa Jitto’, ‘Aap Hamare Haon Kaun’, ‘Mere Hissse Ki Dhoop Kahan Hai’, ‘Beauty is a Beast’ and ‘Gifty’ etc ‘The Seven Cream Jugs’ play revolves round a classic example of double standards-one for those successful in life and another for the not so well off. The play opens with discussions between Mrs and Mr. Pigeoncotes about their cousin Wilfred who had inherited a fortune and is sure that this will reform the poor ‘Wilfred the snatcher’. When Pigeoncotes got a massage that he is visiting them, they are even ready to overlook this problem of Wilfred now that he is a rich man. As a case of mistaken identity, Pigeoncotes realized that they had got the wrong Wilfred, who is a diplomat. This one has also got a silver cream-jug as a gift for them which they had stolen from his suitcase. Embarrassed Mrs. Pigeoncote explains to Wilfred that her husband must have stolen the silver mug because of his special kind of Kleptomaniac disease. The play takes an interesting turn when Mrs. Pigeoncote ends up stealing and puts the blame on her husband’s disease. Mr Pigeoncote keeps wondering why a women visitor is seen carrying a suitcase to the bathroom like all other women visitors to his house. The roles of Mrs & Mr. Pigeoncotes were efficiently played by Kabria Nassir and Sahitya Sharma. Mokesh Veer Played the role of Wilfrid and Prachika Kanotra confidently played as Narrator. Gauri Thakur the director of the play also played the role of Mrs Consvelo Von. The lights of the play were designed and executed by Gaurav Jamwal and Mohit Sharma scored the sound effects. Rishab Dev Singh Jamwal did the presentations. ************
