NCC Cadets of 1 J&K Air Squadron, Udhampur lead mega cleanliness drive | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 26: In a remarkable display of civic responsibility and dedication towards nation-building, cadets of the 1 J&K AIR SQUADRON NCC organized and led a Mega Cleanliness Drive as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 2025, on 26 September 25. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from Air Wing NCC cadets, PI Staff and ANOs of the unit, reaffirming their commitment to the vision of a cleaner and greener India. The drive was conducted at multiple locations that included schools, parks and frequently visited places like Devika Ghat at Udhampur. Cadets actively engaged in cleaning activities, spreading awareness about hygiene, waste management, and the importance of maintaining a clean environment. The event began with an oath-taking ceremony, where cadets pledged their continued support to the ideals of Swachh Bharat. Senior officers, local dignitaries, and school authorities were present to motivate the young volunteers. Addressing the cadets, the Commanding Officer of the unit Wg Cdr Nitin Yadav applauded their efforts and emphasized the role of youth in creating lasting social change. "The NCC has always stood at the forefront of community service. The enthusiasm displayed by the cadets is a testament to the cadets' unwavering commitment to national causes. This drive is not just about cleaning surroundings. It's about cleaning mindsets and instilling civic values in young Indians. We are proud of our cadets." he said. The cadets also conducted poster-making campaigns, and door-to-door awareness to educate citizens about proper sanitation practices and reducing plastic usage.
