Balwan Singh, Assistant Professor, Government College of Education Jammu, was the special guest on the occasion. These include essay writing, poetry recitation, Hindi grammar, quiz, translation, extempore speeches, and Hindi workshops at the regional office.
In his address, Sh. Ghulam Abbas said that Hindi is not just a language, but a strong carrier of Indian culture, values, and traditions. "It unites all Indians in a single thread of unity, connects us emotionally, and expresses our feelings. With its simplicity, sweetness, and scientific approach, Hindi has earned special recognition at the global level," he added.
Dy. Director Ayushi Puri noted that Hindi is not merely a language of colloquial speech and literature, but also a language of science, communication, IT, and innovation. She emphasized that since Hindi is both our mother tongue and an official language, it is essential to give preference to its use not only in daily life but also in official work.
Ashwani K Gupta Sr Accounts Officer highlighted that on 14th September 1949, it was decided to adopt Hindi written in the Devanagari script as the official language of India. This year marks the 76th anniversary of adopting Hindi as the official language.
O.P. Mauriya delivered a detailed lecture on the department's achievements in the promotion of Hindi. He also announced the names of employees who won special awards in different competitions held during the Pakhwara. The programme also featured cultural performances presented by artists of CBC Jammu.
