RS PURA, Sept 27: Intra-Mural Gatka Competition Organized at GDC RS Pura, the Department of Physical Education of GDC R S Pura successfully conducted an Intra-Mural Gatka Competition in the college premises, aimed at reviving traditional martial arts and fostering cultural values among students. The programme was inaugurated by Prof (Dr.) Preetpal Kour, Principal of the college, who encouraged students to actively participate in indigenous sports. In his address, he highlighted that Gatka, apart from being a self-defence technique, strengthens courage, discipline, and teamwork. The competition witnessed energetic participation and skillful performances by students, who displayed agility, precision, and sportsmanship. Winners were awarded medals while all participants were applauded for their dedication. Simran Preet Kour, Sem 1 stood runner-up and Khushpreet Kour of Sem 1 was winner in women's category and in Men category Sarabjeet Singh, Sem 1 stood runner-up and Gurutej Singh of Sem 3 was the winner. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Roopali Slathia Physical Director, who expressed gratitude to the Principal, staff, and volunteers for their support. Convener Sports Committee Dr. Anupama Pandotra, Dr. Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Prof. Geetika Goswami, Prof. Sunil Kumar, Prof. Rajinder Singh and Prof. Kiran Lata were also present and witnessed the event. |
