GCW organises induction cum Fresher's Party

JAMMU, Sept 27: Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar organised Induction cum Fresher's party today for the session 2025-26 in college auditorium welcoming new students fostering interaction and unity among fresher's and seniors. The programme began with the lightening of lamp by patron of the event worthy Principal of the college, Dr. Geetanjali Andotra accompanied by special guest of the day SP south Sh. Ajay Sharma, Convenor, Students Welfare Committee Dr. Rabia Javed, key speaker of today's Induction Programme Dr . Ashok Kumar.
Special Guest of the day SP south Sh. Ajay Sharma in her speech stressed on humane values to be practised in life in addition to academic excellence. His speech provided a platform for the new students to feel valued and integrated, channelizing youth energy in right direction and constructive approach to life with discipline. Dr. Ashok Kumar, Assistant Professor in Biochemistry made a detailed presentation on NEP-20, making fresher students aware of the rubrics of curriculum, structure and courses for FYUGP. Lavanya Jamwal, Vice President, College Presidium delibrated in detail regarding rules and Regulations to be followed in college and various college committees that would benefit students in upcoming sessions.
Dr. Geetanjali Andotra in her address to the students warmly welcomed the newest batch of students into the college, expressed their excitement for the new academic year and stressed the importance of integration. This event is crucial for integrating our new students into the Gandhi Nagar college family.
Highlights of the programme included energetic dance performances by both new and senior students. In thrilling Ms. Fresher 2025 contest, Ms. Manvi Chandyal was adjudged Miss Fresher 2025.
Contests were judged by jury comprising of Dr. Smriti Aggarwal, Prof. Rashi Gupta and Dr. ShIfali Abrol.
The proceedings of the programme was conducted by Mahi Gupta, Arkashita, Disha and Hafsa. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Akrida. Entire event was conducted under the patronage of worthy Principal Dr. Geetanjali Andotra, sincere approach of Convenor Students Welfare Committee Dr Rabia Javed and committee members and energetic efforts of college Presidium.
