Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 27: The Kashmir Open Hockey Tournament, organized by Kashmir Hockey Academy under the aiges Hockey J&K in collaboration with Sports Council, concluded with a thrilling final match between Young Anantnag Hockey Club and GDC Ganderbal. Young Anantnag emerged victorious winning 4-0. The winners received a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and the runners-up Rs 10,000, generously sponsored by Dr. Charanjeet Singh. The ceremony was graced by Col. Harmeet Singh SM as Chief Guest, Dr. Charanjeet Singh as Guest of Honour, and Smt. Harmohinder Kaur and Sh. Surjeet Pal Singh Rattan as Special Guests. Other dignitaries present included Munshi Rafiq , Er. Sartaj Singh, S.J.S. Azad, Dr. Rafi Ahmed, Dr. Amarjeet Singh, Dr. Hartej Singh, Dr. Surjeet Singh & Gurdyal Singh . Veteran players like Sh. Joginder Singh & Sh. Avtar Singh Bakshi also attended the event. A technical panel comprising Ravinder Pal Singh (Former National Hockey Umpire), Dr. Harbinder Singh (NIS Hockey Coach, Kashmir University), and Jetinder Singh (NIS Qualified Hockey coach) ensured the match's smooth conduct. The tournament was held under the able supervision of Ravinder Pal Singh (Former National Hockey Umpire) & Chairman of the Athlete Committee as well as Selection Committee of Hockey J&K. This tournament aimed to positively engage youth, steering them away from substance abuse and detrimental habits while promoting sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles through hockey. |
