Chandigarh, Sept 28, The NSS Units, Red Ribbon Club and Health Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER, Chandigarh, organised a Blood Donation Camp. The initiative was supported by Arpan – Joy of Living, the local CSR wing of Infosys. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Mr. Pankaj Rai, IAS, Deputy Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh, and Dr. Nemi Chand, SLO, State NSS Cell, Chandigarh, graced the event as Guest of Honour. The annual camp- a reaffirmation of the power of collective efforts in fostering public health and well-being, received an overwhelming response with 134 units of blood donated. To acknowledge their selfless contribution, all donors were presented with discount vouchers sponsored by local businesses, symbolising the community’s gratitude. In addition, individuals with low haemoglobin levels were identified and included in a special survey group aimed at creating awareness and managing anaemia. Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma lauded the exemplary efforts of the NSS Units, Red Ribbon Club and the Health Committee of the college. She further highlighted that the collaboration between MCM and PGIMER stands as a testament to their shared commitment to community service, healthcare, and social responsibility.
