| War of words eclipsed the political standings of our leaders | | | Khushwant. S. Ranial Human greed knew no bounds. It is infinite because it is just like elastic, flexible and could be stretched to desired limit. It serves as the basis for germination of unhealthy and corrupt completition to gain political mileage in the field of politics though apparently this notion also does apply to other fields as in varying proportions. In the field of politics, relations are transient, temporary and based on the opportunity to seek benefits at the cost of morality and ethics. Values and norms do not matter and sustain existence. They are generally kept away from the line of transparency and relegated beyond the walls of principles. The foe of yesterday becomes friends of today and vice-versa. It is a battle field of uncertainties. The worst sufferers are none other than the poor hapless masses who become helpless after selling their rights in the name of votes to these leaders for the ushering of growth and development. But in the end, these leaders make mockery of the reposed trust and exploit sentiments and hearty feelings of those ones who had lent everything for the good governance. This vicious cycle is going on for the centuries together and still no respite is immediately seen to escape from the clutches of such exploiters of the confidence. Especially at the time of the elections such a fever goes to acme and it keep on inclining higher and higher without any respite. Right since the onset of 15th Lok Sabha elections in India, the fever of holding public rallies at every nook and corner of this country has set the summer more charged, with the vociferous debates held by the contesting aspirants on the irrelevant issues which bore no concern to the welfare of masses in general totality. Voters are confused finding no other option to avoid them. They see no ray of hope to sail them through the ordeals of life which is becoming harder day by day and over burdened with the recession and inflationary trend. What they get in every meeting is nothing new else than a bundle of false and fake promises. Under such compelling circumstances, it is regularly becoming more or ridiculous and disheartening to bear with such a loathsome formulae, options and futile approach. How long this trend will proceeds is hard to predict but it is damn sure that days are not far off that under the given circumstances we are going to have a doom’s day waiting for us. One can gauge the fact that right since the poll preparations of this time, mud slinging and hardened astringent information were floated against one another to malign one another at the cost of gaining one’s own political mileage. No doubt, in the field of competition survival of fittest propounded by the Zoologist C. Darwin does exist to the greatest extend but that to not by the use of the ill conceited means but by the tactful and calculated powerful means. The lust to chair the top slot of the elected Indian democracy in the parliament by the Octogenarian BJP’s leader namely Sh. L.K. Advani began the inning debate by calling the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as the weak and puppet to carry the orders and seek directions of 10, Janpath, in New Delhi. He rated Mr. M.M. Singh as the most important Prime Minister since Indian democracy was revived war back in 1947. Thus by doing so, he almost attacked his stature, competence and ability of which one cannot dare to cast doubt upon, in the light of the intellect Mr. Singh possess. Kudos to Mr. Singh who bore the brunt of the nuisance with utmost restraint which cannot be rated as the weakness of someone holding one’s breathing for silencing the meaning less issues. Rather it exemplifies the magnanimity of a person who was regularly charged for the outburst to foment the trouble and begin the new game of accusations over looking the vital discussions for the debate. But even then, our worthy PM did not utter a single word in the honour of Mr. Advani and thus tried to maintain decorum. Mr. Advani must not forget that we are living in an era of coalition politics compulsion to keep equilibrium intact. But Mr. Advani overlooking factors has been found very desperate to cash the seat by hook or crooked means. The issue does not end here. Not to speak of Mr. Advani, even other leaders from every party to woo the voters lost all the sanctity of the election code of conduct crossing all the limits in castigating the images of others. It seems as if chaos is prevailing everywhere and we are living in fool’s paradise. There seems no ray at an end. Bright end of the channel is enlarging day by day thus stretching the length to live in the groping darken side of the tunnel having an unending chains of actions and reactions. Hence it is utmost desired that such war hysteria of words should be put to an end and not deviate from real issues otherwise the real purpose for which the elections are held shall get defeated. We all have to live in the same social milieu after the elections are over and so our relations must not grow so acrimonious that we may not be able to share the same dais in the parliament house as well as in the general life. Dear candidates please do not keep the pack of cards jumbled and disarrayed. Believe in humanism and morality which is the basis of upward mobility of a sound civilization. No one can like in the isolation. Group culture is the only way to keep life vibrant and aesthetic and moreover leave such indelible imprints on the sounds of time in such a way that generations to come by may try to emulate the path shown by you to survive in a healthy way. They may find worth in your achievements to eulogies it over and again and seek t o strive more excellence rather than shunning you in the storm of forgetfulness and short memory forever. Let God prevail may upon your good sense to help you not to over indulge in the war of words which does not elevate your public standings but descends and eclipses your futures and lowers your image.
