Jammu, Sept 29: CRC Jammu Celebrates International Week of the Deaf in Collaboration with District Jammu Association of the Deaf Composite Regional Centre (CRC) Jammu, under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, successfully organized a special programme to celebrate the International Week of the Deaf on 29th September 2025, in collaboration with the District Jammu Association of the Deaf. The event was conducted under the able guidance of the Director, CRC Jammu, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 60 attendees, including beneficiaries from both CRC Jammu and the District Deaf Association, along with their parents and caregivers. The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by the Administrative Officer, CRC Jammu, setting the tone for an inclusive and engaging session. This was followed by an interactive lecture by the Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology, CRC Jammu, which focused on mental health awareness, communication strategies, and empowerment of individuals with hearing impairments. Adding to the significance of the occasion, the Zonal Head of Youth Sports, Jammu also joined the programme and delivered a heartfelt word of appreciation, applauding the collaborative efforts of both organizations in promoting the rights and welfare of the Deaf community. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the President of the District Jammu Association of the Deaf, who expressed gratitude to CRC Jammu, the participants, and all supporters of the cause. A group photograph was taken to commemorate the occasion, followed by the distribution of refreshments to all participants. |
