| Doda migrants pinning hope on CM; demand relief at par with Kashmiri migrants | | | Early Times report Jammu, May 11- Expressing strong resentment over the delaying tactics of the state government to settle their demand of relief at par with Valley migrants, erstwhile Doda Migrants are pinning hopes on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for early resolution of their demand. Addressing media persons here today, Ghulam Mohidudin, president, erstwhile Doda Migrant Committee said that migration from Doda started during 1990 to 1996 as the militancy was at its peak in the area but the innocent people from high reaches of Doda were denied any sort of relief till date. The president said that Doda migrant families were on dharna outside Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Office since last 504 days but it is agony that government has turned deaf ears to their genuine demand and has even ignored the Supreme Court directive of treating Doda migrants at par with Valley migrants. Mohi-ud-Din stressed they be provided cash incentives like Kashmiri migrants with retrospective effect, besides the government accommodation. He said the hapless Doda migrants have full faith on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that he will protect their just and genuine right.
