katra, Sept 30: Govt. Degree College Kakryal, Katra organized an awareness programme on SIGMA portal on 30th of September 2025. The Higher Education Department of Jammu & Kashmir has introduced the SIGMA portal (Student Integrated Grievance & Messaging Application), among other ICT initiatives, to improve transparency, responsiveness, and communication between students and administrative bodies. The programme was organized to familiarize students, faculty, and staff with SIGMA: its purpose, how it works, and how it can be used effectively. The main objectives of the awareness programme were to introduce the SIGMA portal, its features, and its benefits to the college community and to train students and staff how to lodge grievances, track them, and effectively communicate via SIGMA. The programme began with a welcome address by the Principal of the college, Dr. Rajni Bhagat. She gave a brief overview of recent ICT initiatives by the J&K Higher Education Department, including SIGMA. A detailed presentation on SIGMA portal was delivered by Prof. Mohd.
