Mandi Gobindgarh, Sept 30: The Placebo Club, Faculty of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University, celebrated World Pharmacist Day 2025 on the theme “Think Health, Think Pharmacist” with great zeal and participation from students and faculty of the School of Pharmacy, S. Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, and Mata Jarnail K. College of Pharmacy.
The event featured a public awareness rally, Model Making Competition, Oration/Declamation Contest, Short Video Competition, and cultural performances, highlighting the vital role of pharmacists in healthcare while fostering innovation and collaboration among students.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, DBU, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, who motivated students to embrace innovation and entrepreneurship. Dr. Puja Gulati, Principal, School of Pharmacy, extended a warm welcome to the gathering.
A major highlight of the program was an expert talk session that offered students valuable insights into the pharmacist’s role, the career pathway of a Drug Inspector, and opportunities for professional growth. Dr. Santosh Jindal, Drug Control Officer, Sangrur, Punjab, and Guest of Honour, shared his entrepreneurial journey, inspiring students to pursue their careers with confidence and vision.
Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor, DBU, delivered an inspiring lecture on the indispensable role of pharmacists in patient safety and community well-being.
The event proved to be an enriching platform for budding pharmacists, motivating them to embrace leadership, innovation, and commitment to improving public health.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Puja Gulati, acknowledging the efforts of dignitaries, faculty, and students.
