Jammu, Oct 2: As part of the Seva Parv campaign, the Seminar/workshop/symposium committee of GGM Science College, Jammu in collaboration NCC and NSS Units of the College, concluded its series of activities with a special screening of a documentary film on the life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi today. The event was organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation and to inspire students.
The programme was held under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of GGM Science College, who on the occasion emphasized the importance of Gandhian values in shaping character and building a just society. He noted that Gandhi Ji’s principles remain relevant in addressing present-day challenges and urged students to imbibe these values in their personal and professional lives.
The screening was meticulously supervised by Dr. Ashaq Hussain, Associate Professor & Associate Dean, DSW, Cluster University of Jammu, who highlighted the role of such initiatives in fostering moral and ethical awareness among youth. He remarked that the screening was not only a tribute to Gandhi Ji but also a reminder of the responsibility which students bear as future leaders of the nation.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, with NCC Cadets, NSS Volunteers, ANOs, and NSSPOs of the College actively engaging in meaningful discussions following the screening. The programme concluded with a collective pledge to uphold the ideals of truth, peace, and service to humanity. With this inspiring finale, the Seva Parv campaign at GGM Science College came to a close, leaving behind a message of unity, responsibility, and commitment to the greater good.
