IGNOU gives prospective students more time with admission deadline extension; the door isn't closed yet | | | early times report
Jammu, Oct 3: As the last opportunity, IGNOU has extended the last date for fresh admission for the July 2025 session till 15th October, 2025. The extension of last date is not applicable to six months certificate and semester based programmes which already stands closed. The date extension is also not applicable to re-registration for next semester/year. The desirous candidates who wish to seek fresh admission can avail this last opportunity of date extension and apply for any of the programmes of their choice well before the deadline. The extension marks the second time the deadline has been prolonged for the July session this year. For filling the admission form online, candidates need to create a User ID and Password on the SAMARTH portal and be ready with a Mobile No., Email ID, properly scanned academic documents, photograph and Bank Debit /Credit/Net Banking for payment of fee. Applicants can access the IGNOU admission portal 2025 at IGNOU website www.ignou.ac.in or by directly following the link https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Applicants should enrol for Online programmes only if they have access to the required technology and are comfortable with digital learning. Those who prefer printed study materials are encouraged to choose the ODL mode. The university advises applicants enrolling in online programmes to ensure they have reliable access to a computer or laptop and an internet connection. Online programme students will not receive printed study materials; instead, all learning resources are provided digitally. The students must provide their own email ID and Mobile Number at the time of admission in order to rule out any cyber fraud in future. Candidates seeking admission in IGNOU’s ODL and online programmes now have until October 15 to complete their applications. The university has highlighted the importance of having a DEB ID (Distance Education Bureau Identification), which is mandatory for application submissions. The DEB ID must be created before beginning the application process to avoid last-minute technical difficulties. “IGNOU’s admission extension provides prospective students with a valuable opportunity to secure a place in one of India’s leading open universities, offering flexible and accessible education through distance and online learning modes”, said Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director, Regional Centre Jammu. |
