Jammu, Oct 3: As a part of series of events to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti, Government Degree College R.S. Pura successfully concluded the celebrations with a dignified valedictory function under the worthy patronage of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour and supervision of IQAC. The event started with a formal welcome address given by Prof. Vijeeta Anand, highlighting the relevance of Gandhian values in contemporary times and praising the enthusiastic participation of students and faculty in the 15 days long programs.
The function commenced with the lighting of the lamp and a heartfelt tribute to the Father of the Nation. The event marked the culmination of a series of commemorative activities held in honor of Mahatma Gandhi’s 156th birth anniversary, reflecting on his enduring legacy of truth, non-violence, and service to the nation. Throughout the week, the college organized a wide array of activities including Essay Writing, Debate Competitions on Gandhian thought, Poster Making and Painting Competitions themed on peace, Sustainable Cleanliness Drives under the Sewa Parv, Documentary Screening on Gandhi’s life and Community outreach programs in nearby villages, orphanages to donate essential commodities. |
