| Coalition non-serious on medicare, says BJP | | | Early Times Report Jammu May 11 State unit of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) today took the state government to task for its non-seriousness in providing medical facilities to the masses in the state, Jammu province in particular. Addressing a press conference here today, state spokesperson Ramesh Arora (Adv.), blamed the coalition for having adopted a biased attitude towards the Jammu province and giving a preferential treatment to the Kashmir valley. ‘It is unfortunate that the elected leaders from Jammu too have become yes men of their Kashmiri masters who are ‘Kashmir centric’ and Jammu leaders fail to represent Jammu properly and not dare to utter a single word about discrimination meted to Jammu, he said. Citing examples of discrimination with Jammu Mr Arora pin pointed, “Rs. 100 crore are spent by centre government and 20 crore by state for additional building facilities, but without planning they are attributing delay on each other. While 50 beds emergency with 3 operation theatre and ICU facility at Bakshi Nagar Hospital is ready 300 beds additional block with paediatrics operation theater at SMGS Hospital; 40 additional beds block at Sarwal Hospital and a new block in Gandhi Nagar Hospital still are waiting their due commissioning. ‘The delay is due to different factors, Man power and deficiency of staff, New staff for additional structure and infighting who has to inaugurate? he said. Mr Arora has specifically expressed his concern over deteriorated condition of roads and asked the concerned department to immediately make road useable because the roads are not repair immediately after layingout pipes for drainage.
