Closing ceremony, prize distribution of 14th J&K UT Shooting Championship held

JAMMU, Oct 3: The closing ceremony and prize distribution of the 14th J&K UT Shooting Championship was held today at Anuthm Hotel and Resorts, Kunjwani, Jammu. The championship, which took place from August 23 to August 29, 2025, was conducted across multiple venues, including the DYSS Shooting Range, IDPS Shooting Range, Sunjwan, and NCC Shooting Range, Nagrota.
Organized by the J&K Rifle Association (JKRA) under the aegis of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), the event was held in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services and Sports and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council.
The competition featured a wide range of small-bore events in both Pistol and Rifle categories, including 10m Air Pistol, 25m Sports Pistol, 25m Standard Pistol, 25m Centre Fire Pistol, 50m .22 Free Pistol, 10m Air Rifle, 50m Rifle Prone, 50m Three-Position Rifle These events were contested in both the men's and women's categories.
Medals and certificates were awarded to the winners by S. Surinder Singh Sodhi, in the presence of Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, S. Satpal Singh (Divisional Sports Officer, J&K Sports Council, Jammu), Sharat Chander Singh W. (General Secretary / CEO, JKRA), S. Paramjeet Singh (Vice-President, JKRA), Arun Mansotra (Treasurer, JKRA), S. Suminder Singh (Director, IDPS Sunjwan, Jammu).
S. Surinder Singh Sodhi, President of the J&K Rifle Association and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, delivered the welcome address.
Sharat Chander Singh, General Secretary and Organizing Secretary of the Championship, provided an overview of the Association's activities.
Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, Chairman of JKRA, delivered the vote of thanks.
The championship matches were conducted under the supervision of the JKRA Technical Panel, which included: Rajesh Virdhy (Chairman, Technical Committee), Madhupal Singh, Pranav Sambyal, Vijay Kumar, Surjeet Singh, Vishal Mehra, Aman Singh, Shamsher Singh, Sahil Sharma, Tarundev Singh, Shruti Sharma.
