| Sudh Mahadev mela from June 6 | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, May11- Arrangements for the smooth conduct of three-day historical Sudhmahadev Mela starting from June 6 at Sudhmahadev, Chenani in Udhampur district were discussed in a meeting of district officers of different departments with District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Ajay Khajuria, in chair.
District heads of various departments, engineers of PWD, PHE, PDD and President Patnitop Hotel Association were also present in the meeting.
Threadbare discussions on various arrangements like drinking water, power supply, medicare, sanitation, security, transport, accommodation, repair of road, checking of rates of essentials and parking of vehicles etc. were discussed in the meeting.
The DDC directed Executive Engineer, PHE to erect adequate number of public points at the mela site well in advance while Executive Engineer, PDD was asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply during mela days. The Executive Engineer ERA was asked for early upgradation of Chenani-Sudmahadev road stretch for the facility of visitors
The PDA and Municipal Council, Udhampur would ensure deployment of safai-karamcharis to sanitize the venue, well in advance and ensure cleanliness during mela days, as well. The Chief Medical Officer was asked to depute a team of doctors with ambulance and required medicines to meet any eventuality. Executive Engineer, PWD was asked to erect temporary toilet at the mela site for the convenience of pilgrims. The Dharmarth Trust would ensure accommodation for departmental officials and pilgrims as well. Modalities for providing tent accommodation at mela site were also discussed for which officers of PDA agreed to provide 25 tents.
