Jammu, Oct 6: Senior Citizens SS Club Chowadi celebrated International Day of Older Persons with the eminent personalities of Jammu working in the fields of banking sector, education and legal services. Dr. Kasturi Lal, Chairman of the Club welcomed all the invitees and apprised them of their concern about the gradual degradation of their mother tongue Dogri. He apprised all about the activities of the club which are focused towards sensitizing various segments of the society for preserving and promoting Dogri. Sh. Yash Paul Bourney, Principal District and Session Judge, Jammu district graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He emphasized the need for the citizens to play a leading role in changing the wrong perception among masses about Dogri which takes the children away from their mother tongue. Maj Gen SK Sharma, AVSM (Retd), President of the Club informed all that United Nations has kept the theme for the year 2025 as “Older persons Driving Local Action” besides other priorities. He informed that our club is spearheading the promotion of Dogri among the students, families and different segments of the society. Chief guest felicitated the prominent citizens who are promoting the cause of Dogri in various sectors.
