Jammu, Oct 6: G.G.M. Science College, Jammu, under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, inaugurated a Two-Day Faculty Training Workshop on the establishment of E-Yantra Labs for the Jammu Division. The initiative is part of the prestigious E-Yantra Programme of IIT Bombay, designed to promote robotics education and innovation through project-based learning. The inaugural session was chaired by Prof. (Dr) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal, G.G.M. Science College, with Prof. (Dr) Rajinder Singh, Principal, SPMR College of Commerce, and Dr Vandana Khajuria, HOD English as the Guest of Honour. In his address, Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta emphasized the importance of integrating technology and innovation into the teaching-learning ecosystem. He highlighted that such initiatives empower faculty members to help students apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problem-solving. Dr. Gupta further shared that GGM Science College has been nominated as the host institution for this workshop and expressed gratitude to Dr. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, Director Colleges, J&K Higher Education Department, for his support. He also extended sincere thanks to Sh. Shantmanu, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Higher Education Department, J&K, for his constant encouragement in promoting innovative academic initiatives. Over the course of two days, faculty participants will receive hands-on training in embedded systems, automation, and robotics programming. The sessions are being conducted by expert trainers from IIT Bombay’s E-Yantra Team, including Mr. Sidhartha Kulkarni, Mr. Shakthi Mahender, and Mr. Shantanu Edak.The event was convened by Dr. Bandhan Sharma and coordinated by Dr. Neha Sharma, Prof. Gourav Gupta, Prof. Rajiv Kumar, Prof. Sheraz Kouser, Dr. Mateen Hafiz, Prof. Ameeq Rehman, Prof. Vippan Kumar, and Prof. Arvind Kumar. |
