Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 6: To strengthen the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-Reliant India) campaign and promote the use of indigenous products, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Vice Chairman, Balbir Ram Rattan, administered an oath to key BJP leaders to use Khadi and other indigenous goods.
Among those who took the oath were Prof. Kulbhushan Mohtra (In-charge, Nanaji Deshmukh Library), Basant Raj Thakur (State Convenor, BJP VDG Cell), and Ramesh Katoch (State Co-Convenor, BJP VDG Cell).
As part of the oath, these BJP leaders pledged to wear Khadi, use indigenous products, and encourage those around them to do the same.
On this occasion, Balbir Ram Rattan said that the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not just an economic slogan but a powerful means to re-establish India's cultural, social, and economic identity. He stated that unless we prioritize domestic products, the country's economy cannot achieve complete strength.
Balbir added that the Swadeshi Pledge is not only a source of inspiration for BJP workers but also aims to instill pride and support among the general public for locally made products.
He emphasized that adopting indigenous goods is not just an option but a duty of every nationalist citizen. He also mentioned that in the coming days, he would work to accelerate the Swadeshi (indigenous) movement by engaging with youth, students, and people from all walks of life.
Prof. Kulbhushan Mohtra described Khadi as a symbol of self-respect and self-reliance, and praised Balbir Ram Rattan's efforts. Basant Raj Thakur and Ramesh Katoch also reiterated their commitment to spreading this movement to every household.
