Jammu, Oct 6: The Vidyarthi Shakha (student unit) of the Central University of Jammu celebrated the 100th foundation day of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Monday in the university campus. Prior to the celebration, student volunteers conducted a path sanchalan (route march) inside the campus. This became the first-ever route march in the history of the Central University of Jammu, marking a significant milestone. The event stands as a testimony to the growing connection of youth and students in educational institutions with the RSS, and to its increasing strength and popularity in Jammu and Kashmir. The centenary celebration was organized in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm, discipline, and national spirit. Vijayadashami, symbolizing Indian rich culture and tradition, is celebrated as the victory of truth over falsehood, righteousness over unrighteousness, and virtue over evil. In this spirit, the Central University of Jammu organized the event to convey a message of national unity, Integrity and cultural pride not only to the university family but also to society at large. A total of 96 swayamsevaks (volunteers), including students, research scholars, teaching faculty, and non-teaching staff, participated in full uniform, Their disciplined and alert demeanor added a special charm to the occasion. In addition, 205 guests, including students, research scholars, faculty, non-teaching employees, and residents of the staff quarters, also actively participated in the program. The chief speaker of the event was Shri Mukesh Ji, Prant Pracharak of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. In his address, he emphasized the need to awaken the spirit of nationalism and patriotism among the youth and every citizen. He remarked that India endured nearly a thousand years of foreign invasions, particularly under the Mughal and British rulers, which caused immense cultural damage and subjugation. This long period deeply impacted the cultural consciousness of Indian society. He stressed that the reconstruction of nationalistic consciousness and the restoration of cultural pride is the only way forward. |
