JAMMU, Oct 8: The students of the Central University of Jammu (CUJ) showcased an outstanding performance at Convoquer '25, the inter-collegiate Sports Fest hosted by IIT Jammu from 2nd to 5th October 2025. Demonstrating exceptional skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship, CUJ athletes secured multiple medals across various events, earning the overall championship title amidst tough competition from leading institutions across the region.
Central University of Jammu teams achieved remarkable victories including: Gold Medal in E-Sports, team led by Vamshi Dhar Reddy, Gold Medal in Table Tennis (Team), led by Snigdha, Silver Medal in Table Tennis, led by Sudhansh, Bronze Medal in Football, led by Pankaj, Silver Medal in Basketball, led by Prachi Desai, Silver Medal in Volleyball, led by Akhil Sharma, Bronze Medal in Volleyball, led by Ishika Sharma, Bronze Medal in Chess, led by Aditya Yadav.
Speaking on the occasion, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain congratulated the medal winners for their commendable performance and assured all possible support to further strengthen the sporting culture at CU Jammu. He expressed satisfaction and pride in the students' growing potential and commitment to excellence.
Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Sharma, Director, Physical Education commended the students for their hard work and confidence, emphasizing the University's focus on facilitating more such opportunities for holistic development. Dr. R. Sudhakar, Dr. Kiran, Dr. Jai Bhawani, and Dr. Neerendra Kumar, Assistant Director, Department of Physical Education, along with Ms. Khushboo, I/c Sports were also present on the occasion and motivated the students to continue their excellent performance in upcoming AIU tournaments. |
