| Heroin smuggling foiled on Jammu-Katra route, accused arrested | | |  Early Times Report
REASI, Oct 9: In a significant anti-drug operation, a team from Police Station Katra apprehended a person involved in narcotics possession. The accused has been identified as Kaka Ram S/O Bansi Lal R/O Hutt, Aghar Jitto, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi.
The individual was intercepted while traveling from Jammu towards Katra town on a motorcycle. During the routine naka checking at Nomain Naka, approximately 2.690 grams of a Heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.
In this connection, a case under FIR No. 274/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS has been registered at P/S Katra and further investigation is underway.
The whole operation was conducted under the leadership of SHO P/S Katra Insp. Khyatiman Khajuria, under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran, JKPS.
SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh, JKPS reiterated that the district police remain fully committed to curbing drug-related activities and ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens. He urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help make Reasi a drug-free district. |
