Doda police secures community service to the accused in public nuisance case

DODA, Oct 9: District Police Doda, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Gandoh, has successfully pursued a Complaint under Section 355 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Sajad Hussain, son of Mohd Yousuf, residing in Village Kandolu Hazari, Tehsil Gandoh, District Doda. The charges stemmed from his disruptive behavior and misconduct and causing public nuisance due to alcohol consumption in the Kandolu Bhargi Market area. Following a thorough examination of the case, the Hon'ble Judicial Magistrate 1st Class (JMIC) in Gandoh found the accused guilty. Consequently, a sentence comprising community service for a duration of seven (07) days was imposed, to be served at the Sub-District Hospital Gandoh. This service will be carried out from October 10, 2025, to October 16, 2025, daily from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM. This adjudication represents the second instance of community service punishment issued this year by the Police Station Gandoh, highlighting the department's sustained focus on fostering community-centered justice and promoting behavioral reform initiatives. The Doda Police, under the guidance of SSP Shri Sandeep Mehta, JKPS, reaffirms its dedication to maintaining lawful conduct, social accountability, and reformative justice.
