JAMMU, Oct 10: District Srinagar Softball Championship 2025-26 conducted by District Srinagar Softball Association & J&K Sports Council under the auspicious of Jammu & Kashmir Softball Association concluded with a huge participation at Gindun Sports Centre, Rajbagh, here today. Dilbagh Singh Incharge Gindun Sports Centre, Raj bagh, Srinagar presided concluding function as Chief Guest, while Waseem Raja Khan, General Secretary Jammu & Kashmir Softball Association & Ajaz Ahmad, well known sports promoter were also present as Special Guests. Mr.Siraj Ud Din Dar, grace the concluding function as Guest of Honour. The Championship was organized under the supervision of Sh Mohamad Iqbal Beigh, Organizing Chairman of the Championship. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest congratulated the organizers for organizing the Championship in a most befitting manner. He said every athlete who is associated with the Sport of Softball should work hard to bring laurels for Jammu & Kashmir UT as this sports falls in the sports requirement quota of J&K Government. While lauding the tremendous efforts of Ms. Nuzhat Gul, Secretary J&K Sports Council for uplifting sports & games in the Union Territory, the Chief Guest said that Council is providing modern sports facilities to the athletes to blossom at the higher levels. "Every athlete has to take the advantage of the facilities provided by the Sports Council at Gindun Sports Centre. I would love to extend thanks to the staff of J&K Sports Council, Officials from different Schools, Colleges & Clubs for their contribution towards the grand success of this Championship," said Sh.Dilbagh Singh. Best Athlete title in Women section was awarded to Shaista Wani while Best Athlete in Men section presented to Mohammad Rasib. Later, the Chief Guest distributed medals and trophies among the winner and runner-up teams, besides the third place holders.Officials were also Felicitated by the Chief Guest which includes Nayeem Hussain, Saqib Fayaz, Nadeem Hussain, Muneera Hassan, Zainab Zahoor and others.
