JAMMU, Oct 10: Social Activist and Chairman of Samvedna Society, Keshav Chopra, organized a public outreach and welfare distribution drive in Jammu, where he distributed Ayushman Bharat Cards, ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) Cards, and Voter ID Cards among local residents, including youths and Senior Citizens. Speaking on the occasion,Keshav Chopra said that the initiative aims to ensure that government welfare schemes reach every section of society, especially those who are underprivileged or unaware of their rights and entitlements. He also congratulated the first-time voters and encouraged them to actively participate in strengthening democracy by exercising their right to vote responsibly. Highlighting the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat Cards, Chopra said that the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) provides health insurance coverage of 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization. It enables cashless access to healthcare services at empaneled public and private hospitals across the country.
He further explained the importance of the ABHA Card (Ayushman Bharat Health Account), which helps individuals digitally store and access their medical history and health records safely and conveniently. The ABHA initiative promotes a seamless and paperless healthcare system where citizens can easily connect with hospitals, doctors, and diagnostic centers. Keshav Chopra appreciated the Government of India and the J&K Administration for their continuous efforts in improving healthcare and digital empowerment at the grassroots level. He assured that Samvedna Society will continue its mission to raise awareness about welfare schemes, drug prevention, and citizen empowerment.
