Jammu, Oct 13: The Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PM-DDKY) is a significant step towards increasing farmers’ income and strengthening the agricultural sector. This scheme is yet another solid example of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s farmer-friendly policies, aimed at making the country's food providers self-reliant and economically strong. Jammu and Kashmir BJP spokesperson and former Vice Chairman Balbir Ram Rattan, lauding this, said that this scheme will not only help improve the economic condition of farmers but also encourage them to adopt modern agricultural techniques. It will bring new vitality to traditional farming and enable farmers to achieve higher yields. He explained that this scheme, launched under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is a major gift for farmers across the country. Under this scheme, farmers will be provided with advanced seeds, modern irrigation systems, soil testing, storage facilities, and proper markets for their agricultural produce. Their financial security will be ensured through the provision of Kisan Credit Cards and insurance schemes, offering support during natural disasters or other difficult situations. Balbir Ram Rattan further stated that even in the remote and backward areas of Jammu and Kashmir, the scheme's positive impact will be visible. Many farmers have now started turning towards cash crops, horticulture, and organic farming along with traditional agriculture, resulting in a notable increase in their income. He added that this initiative by the central government will strengthen the rural economy. Balbir urged farmers to take maximum advantage of this scheme and adopt technology-based smart farming to improve their financial condition. Balbir emphasized that the main objective of this scheme is to make farmers energetic, self-reliant, and respected. He appealed to state governments and agricultural departments to work together to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach even the last farmer in a timely manner, and no eligible farmer is left out. |
