Orientation programme on NEP organized at GDC for women, Kathua | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Oct 13: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government Degree College for Women, Kathua, organized a one-day Orientation Programme on "Understanding the Framework of NEP 2020 for Undergraduate Programme" under the guidance of the worthy Principal, Dr. Savi Behl. The event aimed to familiarize students with the key features of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and its implementation through the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP). The programme commenced with a welcome address followed by an insightful presentation by Dr. Inderjeet Kour, IQAC Coordinator, who explained the structure and benefits of the NEP 2020-based curriculum in a simple and engaging manner. She elaborated on its flexible curriculum, multiple entry and exit options, credit-based learning system, focus on skill and value education, and research-oriented approach in the final year. Prof. Seema Jolly, Associate Principal of the College, appreciated the efforts of IQAC in organizing the programme and motivated students to take full advantage of the new multidisciplinary and flexible framework. She emphasized that NEP 2020 empowers learners to become independent, innovative, and skilled individuals ready to meet the challenges of the modern world. An interactive session followed, during which students asked questions about course selection, credit allocation, and the role of research in the fourth year. Faculty members responded with detailed clarifications, helping students understand the academic flexibility and opportunities under NEP 2020.
