Early Times Report HIRANAGAR, Oct 13: The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) Cell of Government G.L.D.M. Degree College, Hiranagar organized a seminar on "Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)" on 11th October 2025 under the patronage of Principal Dr. Pragya Khanna. The keynote address and PowerPoint presentation on "Understanding the Basics of Intellectual Property Rights" was delivered by Dr. Yash Paul Khajuria, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, University of Jammu. Dr. Khajuria elaborated on the various forms of Intellectual Property, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, geographical indications, and industrial designs, highlighting their importance in fostering innovation and protecting creators' rights. The event commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Vijay Kumar, followed by an insightful speech by Prof. Anupma Arora, President of the IIC Committee, who emphasized the role of the Institutional Innovation Council in nurturing creativity and entrepreneurship among students. The seminar was attended by a large number of students and faculty members, who showed keen interest in understanding the concept of Intellectual Property Rights. Among the distinguished faculty members present were Prof. Ganga Sharma, Prof. Amit Kumar Sharma, Prof. Surinder Kumar, Prof. Neeru Sharma, Dr. Nishu, and Prof. Balvinder Kour. The faculty members felicitated the guest speaker with a memento as a token of appreciation for his valuable contribution. The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks presented by Prof. Amit Singh, Coordinator of IPR Activities, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the resource person, Principal, faculty, students, and IIC team for their cooperation and active participation.
