| Slathia asks officers to be accountable | | | Early Times Report Samba, May12- Terming accountability and punctuality of an officer the main mantra for ensuring effective implementation of development schemes, the Minister for Industries S S Slathia today instructed the officers to extend justice to the poor and deserving which is their prime duty. He exhorted upon all concerned officers to remain stationed at their places of posting for catering better services to the people besides, establishing their respective control rooms to receive and sort out any public grievance. However, he also assured the officers of all facilities and a conducive atmosphere necessary for bringing in more efficiency in their working. The Minister was reviewing financial and physical achievements of Samba district at a high level meeting here today. Slathia called upon the government functionaries of various departments to be more accountable and transparent in delivering services to the people meant for their socio-economic empowerment Earlier, District Development Commissioner Saurabh Bhagat presented a detailed description of status of implementation of development projects during 2008-09. He informed the meeting that Rs.35.20 crore have been incurred against sanctioned amount of Rs.35.97 crore which works out as 98% of total availability. The Minister asked the officers to workout the actual requirement of development funds in their respective areas and prepares economically viable project proposals under various centrally sponsored schemes to boost the development profile of the district.
